Fulya – Lynne Chapman

Fulya is a full time Bellydance & Burlesque teacher, performer, costumier and event organiser. She is well known as a fusion bellydance performer and constantly seeks to push boundaries and re-define her art. Every aspect of her performance is carefully planned and constructed from concept to execution, all parts are equally important. Music choice, costume, make up and even hair style are all carefully crafted to help tell the dances story and she enjoys every part of the journey.
As a teacher she is noted for being warm and encouraging, with an ability to break movements and combo’s down into easy and manageable chunks with many different explanations, methods of learning and plenty of vivid imagery. Fulya has been teaching bellydance since 2000 and also teaches Burlesque and Flamenco dance. She leads an arabic drumming group – The Long beats, and a tribal bellydance troupe – Tribe-Ulations, and runs Kookie Kaftan with her sister Julie. www.kookiekaftan.co.uk

Fulya will be teaching two workshops:
  • Femme Fatale The Femme Fatale is a powerful female archetype. A woman who is alluring, seductive and dangerous, whose power is thought to be derived  from Witchcraft or other demonic sources. She uses her feminine wiles to hypnotise and manipulate her audience. She is one to watch, one you cannot take your eyes off. Join Fulya for a workshop fusion of  Bellydance, Burlesque & Flamenco, that will awaken & help you tap into this magnetic power.
  • Pre-Raphaelite Passion The Pre-raphaelites have long been an inspiration to many of us attracted to the darker side of life; beautiful women, flowing gowns, in sumptuous fabrics and tragic stories… what more could you want! The heroines of this art form will be our inspiration; Lizzie Siddal and Jane Morris are perhaps the two best known models of this genre. The myths of Ophelia and the Lady of Shalott, are possibly the most explored in these paintings. This workshop will explore flowing sinuous movements, beautiful arm passes and sensual excess! Together with a playlist from Florence and The Machine and The Mediaeval Baebes this will be a workshop overflowing with sensory pleasure.
